Yes I meant the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.

If you keep getting the code then I would suggest that it is bad or the harness is corroded. Also clean the PCM harness that plugs in and reset the PCM:

To reset your engine codes:
Remove the negative terminal of your battery (10mm wrench).
Turn your ignition key to START and hold it there for about 15 seconds.
Turn your ignition key to OFF and remove it.
Connect the negative terminal of your battery.
Start but do not hit the throttle. Idle for about 10/15 seconds then turn off.
Restart the truck and drive as usual. It will take at least 12 starts and 48 miles to fully retune the computer. Hard Codes leave a shaddow for 40 full cold starts.
Also we would like to see any and all codes that are present?

Default Codes

shrpshtr325 the only code it is throwing is "p0505" and that is the only code it is coming up with on my fiance's scanner. It will not stay running and wont run without applyting gas. and it cuts out.

hydrashocker- what harness would you suggest to check? and we have cleaned the plugs to the pcm but have not done the reset yet the way you listed. I will have him try that today.

someone also told me that when they replaced the pcm he had to replace cam position sensor, crank sensor, and MAP sensor. *it was on a jeep* after he replaced his pcm. could that also be the case?

i would check the wiring, follow the plug from the IAC motor to the PCM check for corrosion, loose connection, frayed wires and shorts

Check the main harness that plugs into the PCM on the passenger cab firewall under the hood. Also check the harness on the IAC itself to ensure a good connection.

As for replacing parts because you replaced the PCM, well there's nothing in the rule book about that one. I would assume that the person that did this to his truck (your friend) replaced parts until he finally found the bad part....LOL

Default No luck

OKay so i have yet to check wiring connections because i am having the same problem now as with the last pcm. It will not start. I will be checking the wiring connections today and let you know what i come up with.

Also, was wondering under my dash is a big clump of wires with fuses and they dont look stock. Any ideas on what they might be?

A picture might help?

Do you have an aftermarket security system?
