Default 2000 Durango 4.7L crank no start

hey guys,
i performed a search and read multiple threads, but i guess i'm still posting another one.

my dad was driving around today with no problems, when he went to leave for bowling this evening, the truck did not start.

all lights and accessories work, battery is not new but is not old. The truck cranks but doesnt start. i believe i hear the pump when the ignition is on. i swapped out the fuel pump relay with the fog light relay, same condition.....

my friend who is a chrysler tech thinks its the crank sensor. where is this sensor located on a 4.7 ? ( he hasnt returned my text yet )

any other options ?? the fuel pump was replaced about 5 years ago under warranty.... it had a delayed crank but it started.

sensor is a good place to look so you are on the right track. Nice job swapping the relays as your first place to troubleshoot. Trust your instincts... they seem fine..

Make sure you disconnect the battery BEFORE you install the parts (negative side).

I think the cam is on the passenger side front and crank on the back passenger side.
