Default Oh Deer, Bumper trouble!!

I hit a deer with my 01 durango. Needless to say, I needed a new bumper and bumper cover. I picked up a salvage one off of a 99 Durango. When I got home they weren't the same. After looking online, I see that in 2001 they made a new style of bumper and bumper cover. My question is: Will the 1999 bumper and cover fit on the 2001 durango. Anyone do this.

98-00 are two piece

01-03 are one piece

Different mounting brackets. With that said, you can make it work.

Most 98-00s have rust issues so be careful in what you get. Other than a line where the two parts meet, identical looking to 01-03s.

Indy's right,

1998-2000 years like to rust and for that reason I would go for the 2001-2003.

I have the same problem as this fellow, but I got a 2000 dodge durango, would it be better to get an 01-03 single piece bumper, and use those brackets on the 2000 frame, or get the bumper and bumper cover from a 98-00 and not have to worry about different brackets?

EDIT: I'd also like to state that it is the rear bumper, if that changes anything.

EDIT 2: Also, is it possible to mount 01-03 fog lights in the 98-00?

i not sure about the rear bumpers, but the fog lights should be the same, the only difference being the switch inside the cab
