Default 2003 durango purchase?

hey guys, im new to the forums and new to the dodge nation. im looking to purchase a 2003 dodge durango with 122k, but im concern with the age and miles on the vehicle before making that purchase. is there anything i need to look at in specifics before making that purchase. it looks like a great suv, I'm just curious if there are common problems with this suv in general. Any tips will help, thanks in advance!

a little bit more information would help us to help you,

what engine is in the truck you are looking at?
what is the drivetrain (4x4, 2wd, awd)?

with that said, check for maintenance records, check the balljoints in the front, if they are bolted in they have been taken care of, check the transmission fluid(if it looks burnt or is any color but red thats bad), and ask for change records, these trucks will last well beyond 122k if they are properly maintained.

2003 dodge durango SLT, 4x4, v8 4.7 liter, everything powered, minor dings outside, new tires.. asking price is $4300 for this vehicle with 122k miles, is this considered a good deal for the buyer?

maintenance records, she said its well kept but id have a mechanic do a prepurchase inspection on it before, it's just priced low that i wanna jump on it if its supposely a good deal. I've never owned a dodge before, and Im uncertain what's the lifestan and major problems that can go wrong.

Mainly I would ask for the maintenance records if she has them.

Second, have a large point inspection done to it before you commit as you said. 2003 is the best year but NADA is at least that price at average trade in so if t checks out I say do it. http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2003/...dard-Equipment

Yeah, that's exactly what caught my attention was the trade in value. only thing is, she said "no maintenance records" cause she hasnt done much to the car besides "basic oil changes".. so at 122k it hasnt been tuned up or whatever needs to be done to it. ill run it by dodge, and try to do a pre purchase inspection...

thanks for the reply fellas, hopefully it'll work out in my favor!

It's a good price over all I think. Get the transmission fluid and filter changed NOW!

Don't forget about the oil change, coolant change, check hoses, etc...
