Im talking about exactly what I said. In 2000 the 242 option didnt have 2wd, just 4hi ft, 4hi or, and 4lo. Just like the 242hd in the hummers that didnt have 2wd.

I never said that it was the standard case either, 231 was still standard with the 242 optional. As far as I know the 244 was only available with electric shifting in the 01-03 trucks.

I keep mine in Ft 4wd all winter and have driven at speeds up to 65 mph without any problems.

Did the Rams ever get the 242 transfer case, or another one with full time 4wd? If not you definitely don't want to be in 4 lock on pavement.

My 00 R/T shows Low/Neutral/AWD/High

the Low/High settings have the differential lock settings so not recommended for long term use over dry payment.
