Default Shake from Rear

After driving for about 30 miles on the freeway my ABS light turned on, I exited, stopped at the stop sign and took a left. As I turned left the car started shaking from the rear left a bit. It was like my left rear brakes were preventing me to go or something. Any ideas what this might be? Or has anybody experienced this type of situation before.
Thanks!

Sounds like you could have broken a clutch pack in the rear end if you have a Limited Slip rear differential.

The bevel springs can ware out and fatigue fracture. When they brake loose thye get thrown into the ABS sensor on the top of the differential taking it out and copper wires go everywhere as well as metal in the gears......BE CAREFUL!

This also happens when a clamp from the clutch packs snaps:

wow that sounds like quite a big job..How much would that cost to have done? I have a 02 5.9L durango...How would I know if I have a limited slip differential? Aslo how would I explain this to the shop..Everytime i take it to a shop they can not recreate the problem?...I've been to 3 already. How else could they check if this is the problem besides driving it for a long time. Sorry for the long post

if you open up the rear differential there will be pieces of the clutch packs/sensor sitting the bottom, the longer you drive it without fixing it the more damage you are doing and the more it will cost to fix

Cost for a rebuild is about $900 if the gears are good. If not add another $300. If you do it the cost is minimum maybe $400-$500.

Most likely the backlash in the gears (pinion to ring gear) is excessive, when you place it into gear it "thunks". Again, open the inspection cover to confirm.
