Angry Electrical Issues

Hey Guys, Im having some issues and I was thinking that maybe some of you may have seen this problem. At first I noticed my 01 Durango had a Service 4wd light on and no lights on the switch so I started troubleshooting 4wd electrical issues, tried a different TCCM but didnt work, switch and motor are good. Now doing some other things I noticed that when the parking brake is engaged no light on dash would show also no light when any of the doors were ajar and my rear wiper isnt working!! I read some tips about the CTM giving some strange problems. I looked through some diagrams and those components go through the CTM but what I cant figure out is what does the CTM have to do with the 4wd. Any suggestions would be great.

The CTM covers most of all the internal areas of the the trucks wiring. When it goes out it messes almost everything up like what you are having. I do know that the 4X4 light goes through the CTM (well I am very sure of it anyway).

yea hydra is right, 95% of the electronics visible to the driver inside the truck run through the CTM, i would replace it and see if it fixes the 4wheel drive problem, it is something you NEED to replace anyway since you said wipers are not working.

the CTM is usually a dealer part since they need to program it to your truck and your key remotes (bring em both with you)

Default Replaced the CTM

Hey Guys,

I replaced the CTM with a used one and it did fix all my issues that I originaly had but now Im haveing a new problem.
The built in alarm now comes on and I cant turn it off!! Is this because I replaced the CTM with one that wasnt the exact # that I took out of my truck?? I was one letter off at the end of the serial #. Do I need to take it to a dealer so they can reprogram it? My truck never had a alarm option on the remote!!

Yes you should take it to the dealer for a reprogram it to the exact vehicle it is in like shrp said in the last post. One letter off doesn't cut it. Also on the remote theres not a specific button to arm/disarm the alarm. Just clicking the lock arms the alarm and unlock disarms the alarm.
