I don't know if I'm too late on posting this for you, but I think I'm going to experiment on this dual intake thing with some custom made heat barriers. And if it doesn't work, well, at least I can say I tried. Also if you have any updates on what you did let me know.
Thanks

Now we're doing the same thing on intakes that people do on exhaust...

Sheesh...

People get so hung up on the word "dual" that they forget what's important. Flow...

A single 3 inch tube can pass a LOT more air through it than "dual" 1 inch tubes.

Focus on how much airflow you can get, not whether you can call it dual, tri, or even quad...

yeah i passed on the dual air intake man. it was partly/mostly for looks. maybe if you have a fully functioning hood scoop than it would be nice. if i were you I'd but a k&n tube or airaid tube and attach that to the stock air box. than drop in a k&n drop in filter. as far as it goes i think that will do well. nice flowing filter with a box surrounding it from heat. and nice tubing to flow the air t the throttle body.

corey's right dual isn't always better. like single in dual out exhaust. not much of a difference there really. but ti looks good. thats why I'm doing it

Well I wouldn't be doing it for the "dual" aspect. I'm doing it because I got one for cheap and ill see if I can make it work better. But if not then it will only be a temporary add on until the summer before it gets too hot and ill get something better.

or if your good with your hands, welding, cutting and blending you can buy a separate cowl for your hood and install it yourself?

yeah. its worth a shot. i talked to a guy who has a 2001 4.7l durango and he said it didnt hurt his gas miels or his performance he says he gained performance. he's got a dodge forum account and a youtube account. rvr2 or something?
