Default Trying to fix no rear heat problem

So I have no rear heat in my 03 SLT+ and I took out the rear seat and side panel to access the hvac system. I found the flapper door had a piece broken off, so obviously that was/is the problem. I'm gonna glue and tape it back together for now.

But my question is about the actuator, or whatever it's called that actually moves the flapper. I took it off and had my daughter turn the heater on, then change it to a/c and the wheel that connects to the flapper never moved. And no, I didn't have the actuator unplugged, lol. Is there something I'm doing wrong not getting it to turn, or is the actuator shot as well?

Also, any advice about getting the new/used door, or should I just stick with glue/tape combo?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

Also, I kept seeing people saying they would post pics, but I never did see any. So I've taken a few pics while I have it off, but if there are any specific pictures you guys would like me take let me know. Will probably leave it apart til tomorrow morning.

in order for the controls to work you need the setting in the front to be set to 'rear control' make sure you did that, and then try the control in the rear cieling (im guessing that you used the front bc you had a second person help you, if im mistaken, well. . . sorry lol)

Shrp, I before E EXCEPT after C. LOL

Also, if it were me I'd go ahead and get that new door because it would be easier just to get it out of the way and not pose a problem in the future with maybe the tape breaking or something. I would check with your dealership and see what the pricing is.

I had her working the front controls, I thought those would be able to turn the ac on. It seemed like the the rear heat took forever to get warm, Is this normal?

Was it on a cold start? You have to wait for the truck to warm up before it will blow heat. How long is forever also?

The front heat is warm within a 5 minutes/miles, the rear takes at least double that, and even them its not as warm as the front.

I would check the rear heater core because it seems like that could be a problem. First get under the passenger side rear corner and the coolant lines for the rear core should be visible. Put your hands on the coolant lines and if theres plenty of flow then its not a heater core problem.

If the coolant lines are flowing alright, I would check the actuator door that controls how much heat or cold air is flowing thru the duct work.
