i keep thinking about getting one, i would mount it underneath the hvac controls, id take the bottom panel out and see about cutting it to fit the radio unit in there, nice clean install is the way to go IMO

I mounted mine below the rear wiper controls. Also have the trailer brake control next to it. I mounted the handset for the cb on the roof to the side of my center console. I'm real happy with it...

That was kinda where i was thinking about mounting it just over a little to clear the 4wd shifter. Where do you have you antenna mounted? a local cb shop sells mounts to put a perm. mount antenna up at the hood.. might go that route.

I have dual 5' "firestik" fiberglass antennas that are permanent mounted to the rear hatch area. It's right below the tail lights on the bumper by still able to open the rear hatch.

Permanent mounts are the way to go. They definitely look more professional and you don't have to worry about snow building up on your roof and losing reception. Also I advise you steer clear or any glass mounted ones. I had one that wirelessly went thru the glass, it wasn't worth it ay all to say the least.

Don't mean to be a pain in the a$$ but, could you kindly get a pic of your antenna setup... you just sparked up an idea in my head.. now the wheels are turning.

basically where i would put it, but i would cut the panel and slide the unit into the dash so the wires are out of the way, and i could go a little higher, the newer interior had the wiper controls integrated into the hvac unit

think just to the right of the power outlet the cb would stick out

Yeah, i guess it could be helpful to guys with 4 by's. i was thinking that it was turning back into a trucker thing and even then it was dieing just by seeing the amount of CB shops that have closed to over the years. In our area there is like 2 shops left to choose from and one of them cut there hours down to part time.

Thanks to everyone for the pics so far... i have gotten some ideas and please keep em coming...

I'm runnin a bad *** one. Tuned to like 50 watts, but I can't get the thing to work worth a crap on my rig. I'm about ready to sell it! I've tried everything but just can't get the SWR's under control on my Ram. Mine is a large face Uniden with all the bells and whistles, thinkin about a small version I can actually mount in the Ram without takin mine out each time I go tailoring.
