the rear drums can be adjusted either by backing up and stopping short (creat a rocking motion on the pads inside the drums) or by turning the star adjuster through the access slot on the back of the drums, this is assuming your drums are out of adjustment which is the most common issue. just be careful doing this that you dont overtighten the drums

03s don't have rear drums.

There should be a cable that adjusts the rear disk drummettes that take care of the parking brakes.

I thought rear disk was an option, not standered equiptment in the 2003?

there should be some way to adjust the cable tension on the e-brake cable, it will most likely be as simple as adjusting some retaining nuts on on one of the cable stops, i dont have a shop manual for that year so i cannot check or share in order to give you details, sorry

There is a drum brake inside the rear rotors on the 03 D. If you jack up the back of your D and look at the back of the rotor you will see a small dust cover, same as a regular drum brake, and the adjustment star is in there. I don't recall seeing any other adjustments on the cable.

Rear disk was standard and only factory available on 2003 Durangos boys.

As such, disks have an inner area as a tiny drummette for use by the parking brake only as mentioned above. There is a cable adjustment, not a star adjustment IIRC.

$50 at Midas and your done in 10 minutes.

Indy, I remember when I did rear pads, about 2 mos ago, seeing a little dust cover on the bottom of the backing plate. I will take another look tomorrow, besides I have to adjust my parking/E-brake because they are getting loose.
