Default Timing chain cover

New to site and need to remove timing chain cover to repair water leak between cover and block. Can this be done without removing oil pan and have there been a problem with coving warping?

Does anyone have a picture of special tool to remove clutch fan?

Thanks

Generally, it is the water pump. Very few (like zero) reports of a leaking timing chain cover.

Just saying.

When I bought my used 02, 5.9L, it appeared to have a leak around the timing chain cover. It was actually coming from the thermostat housing, directly above. The previous owner damaged the surface that seats the thermostat (probably from using a wire brush to remove RTV/gasket on the aluminum surface), so coolant was slowly leaking through. The silicone based RTV was sufficient to fixed the problem.

Sorry, its a 1993 with 5.9 in it. I could see the leak from the timing cover right top corner. I'm getting ready to remove the homonic balancer but different set up from GM. No threads on balancer to run puller to remove. It there a trick to removing?

Thanks
