I read through the thread, I incorrectly grouped you with the guy whom said R/Ts have "special" heads...But your frist post was the best one...If it's pinging, it needs higher octane, even a Ram needs higher octane if the Plenum is leaking.

BTW...Here's my Dakota...

Can I post pics of a Dakota in the Durango thread....

Nice wire work. Shows you care about your ride by the cleanliness of the wire grouping.

I had to rebuild one for a customer and they're not special but they are not the same as in my 5.9.
Got proof/pics...Got a part number...?

No.

Gee I wonder why?

EDIT: Post a link, a link to anything from anywhere, proving a stock 2000 Durango R/T with a Magnum 5.9 engine came with anything but stock Mopar Magnum Heads....BTW, What was the valve size of those Durango heads?

I have heard the same thing at the head shops being Mopar Performance R/T Heads, however I could never find them when looking?

Yep why as a matter of fact when I get to the shop tomorrow I'll pull up the records and I do have part numbers and pictures. They valves were 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust.

Edit: Excuse me this was only included on the 2003 model R/T. Check this website, it says about the Dakota but all I could find in the time I have to search on it. Pics will be comin tomorrow.

His posts are in this case more informative and correct than Whitewidows at least on this topic. I spent two hours looking and could not find anything about a special head for any RT model. There was a Magnum RT head but it was a performance part available from chrysler not installed on any factory vehicles.

You Hydra need to follow your own advice and keep things clean on here.

I`ll also add this, depends if your motor is stock,,,,,,,if stock yu can run 89 and down ,,,,or with a SCT you can pick with octane tune you`ll want to run. I still have to run 94 or higher in mine ( modified ), she pings at 91/92 , it just depends on what you are running, or want to spend of fuel.
