I have a 2000 Durango with a 5.9 and mine did the same thing last night. I had a mechanic buddy of mine look at it and he just called to tell me it was the harmonic balancer. Apparently there is rubber ring on it that can slip causing it to become unbalanced and out of sync with the crankshaft. Realize this is almost a month old so I hope you figured it out. Happy Driving!

I have a 1999 Durango SLT 4x4 5.9L engine I did a complete tune up Plugs, wires, cap and rotor and still had the vibration. we put it on the machine but no error codes, the mechanic pulled the crank shaft pulley and it was cracked and out of balance. before we pulled the pulley we took the belt off and the vibration was gone. I have over 145,000 miles and she is as strong and the day we bought her.
