Have you completely ruled out that harmonic balancer, or at least got down there and reefed on it to be certain that it's not gone sloppy?
I looked at it very closely. Used a mirror for the back. Although it's old it doesn't look bad. I took the belt off and started it up. Didn't look wobbly. I am not ruling it out though. Here is a vid of it.

Grab hold of it and twist like hell. The outer and inner should be rockbound to each other. If they're not, there's the problem. If it's good, it was a free and easy test to perform.

I took the belt off and got under there with a small pry bar against the sway bar. I pried it a little bit and the balancer moved ever so slightly out of place. they I used the pry bar and pushed it back where it was again. Is it supposed to be rock solid or can there be a tiny bit of movement in it?

Here is a short vid of the movement. Is that normal for me to be able to move it like that. I wasn't prying hard. Here is a pic of the rubber ring too. Name: P1010689.jpg

In my op that HB is toast, it should not move freely like that.

Ok, thanks. It is 14-15 years old. the PO never changed it. Or any of the bushings or gaskets. I have never seen a bad HB so I don't have any experience in diagnosing one. I'll look into a Mopar replacement.

Back in the day they never failed or not that often, but for some reason they don't stand up as well anymore. I am starting to think I might just change mine out for piece of mind sake, there have been a few HB's on the forum lately that have failed.

I have never had one go bad before. What I don't get is that one minute I had no vibes. I worked on the steering box, changed the fluid, and when I started it back up, vibes.

Any chance you broke/cracked a sparkplug or lead when working on the steering box?
