The Bosch platinum plugs don't work period in these. First off they come with a pre gap entirely too large and the gap is not adjustable. I have had to take out more platinum plugs out of durangos simply because the guy at the parts desk says they're better.
Listen to the sticker under your hood, OEM is the best for these rigs.

Totally agree! Remove those POS platinum and take em back to the store and get your money back. You can tell the parts store tech that they won't run and you want to exchange for the OEM Champion Coppers. They will do it. Next you should get a new cap and rotor (upgrade to brass contacts if you can). Then make a trip down to your local dealer and get a new set of wires, Mopar Performance, or 8.5mm Red MSD wires.
I must disagree with that statment. You should replace your Champion Copper plugs every 15k-30k (I do 15K or yearly) and the cap, rotor, and wires every 60k or so and you shuld be fine.
Most likely if good strong voltage is making it in the disty, and not making it out the cap, rotor, and wires are shot. And in this case the plugs to.....LOL

I took my copper champions out and replaced them with pulstars ,,,,,,,,,,,i found a big difference betwen the two,,,, better starting, better idle ,lil more response...and seems to have giving me wee more mpg ,,not much but noticeable....copper champs are good for these motors of ours ...i just wanted bigger more aggressive spark

I've used either Champion Copper or NGK in all my dodges (had an 06 Ram 2500, 86 Ram 150, and 92 Ramcharger) and they have all never had a problem with the plugs. Just pay attention to what OEM calls for as far as heat range and don't stray too far from the norm (had NGK Iridium in my 06 and worked fine). Not sue what it is but I just can't bring myself to spend $5 or $6 a plug every tune up, even if I wanted platinum plugs.

before the horse is totally dead.......#8 cylinder in durango #2, a '99, is wet with gasoline, and relatively dark in color. the other 7 cylinders fire often enough to get me rolling, but ole #8 is keeping my mileage down ;-). the #8 wire has some spark when the screwdriver is held to a metal bracket, all 8 plugs, cap & rotor were just changed.
so if it's getting gasoline all over the plug, i'm guessing the injector is spitting enough gas to get some flame, so whaddya think, bad wire? or something else?
