Default Stuck in 4lo

Forgot to put it's a 2001, 4.7L Durango. Was driving home tonight and had to switch to 4 wheel so I wouldn't get stuck on a hill behind a car swerving all over the place in the snow. Was barely rolling to switch into 4hi but nothing happened. So I went into 4lo and now it won't switch back out of it. Very slow drive home! Any suggestions??? And thanks beforehand.

It's a 2001? Hmm....

Don't know anything specific about the '01 Durango, but in other vehicles I've had that shifted with buttons or switches instead of a lever, that exact problem always turned out to be a vacuum hose.

First try turning off the vehicle, switching to 2WD and turning on the vehicle. Then I'd try backing up a bit with in in 2WD mode. If that doesn't work coast going about 3 or 4 mph, throw it in neutral then switch to 2WD.

Thanks for the suggestions but they didn't work. I tried them last night before I gave up. Hoping it'd work this morning but it didn't. When I was trying just a few minutes ago, I went for a drive around the block and there's now a clicking noise coming from the front left tire area.

When you're backing up, do you swerve the tires?

I have at times and others I haven't. Been messing with it all day. Think I'll just let it sit a few days and see if it cooperates then. Had a few people say that's worked before.

Unplug the harness at the T-case and check for corrosion.
