Default 4.7L engine cover

Okay so my Durango has the boring regular black engine cover on it, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on one of the engine covers like ive seen in Jeeps. It's got the white letters that say 4.7L Power Tech V8 on it. I know it seems silly to want this so bad but its driving me nuts how boring the standard cover looks. A picture of what I am talking about is attached to this post. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

the one from the jeeps wont work, their air intake is on the drivers side (from that pic) and ours is on the passenger side

IMO take the box out and put a straight run of piping to the air box

What? Didn't you say take the box out? How could I run piping to a box that isn't there?

that box on the tb is NOT the air box (when we say air box on there, we are referring to the box that the air filter is in), that is just a big empty box that slows the air down, if you take it off im sure you will be happy w/ the results.

and you can take that box off and run piping from the air filter box right to the tb

So you are saying, remove the filter box and re pipe it up to the air box? Would I need to use special pipe?

no no no no no

im saying leave the air box (that holds the filter) and repipe from there to the tb, just removing that big plastic box that is right in front of the throttle body

Okay, that's what I thought to begin with but I got lost in the difference in the two boxes. It looks like 2 bolts and a clamp and that crap all comes off, but what kind of piping should I use to do such a modification?

long as its the same diameter just about any plastic piping should work (i have seen it done w/ pvc pipe like you would use in your house) just make sure that the limiting factor in the diameter is the tb and you should be all set (dont go way bigger than that either, but a little bit shouldnt hurt anything)

HOLY HELL! I just called my local auto parts store and for a AIRAID Modular Intake Tube (M.I.T.) its $150 and they have some other brand thats's like $30. I didn't want to spend $150 for a plastic tube so now tomorrow I will be going to get one of them things to increase my airflow on the cheap.
