Default Rear end cladder

I have an 02 Durango that I've been having a problem with the rear end, when I let off the gas there is a cladder sound like a roller coaster going up the hill. I had the pinion bears replaced and it still makes the noise, the guy at the garage is not sure of the problem. Anyone have a suggestion as to what the problem might be?

First what the hell is a pinion bear? You mean pinion bearings?

Next do you have a Limited Slip rear diff? If so, did he install the friction modifier?

What about U-joints?

Could be an axle or carrier bearing.

Could be something in your tire, get the tires checked for nails and get them balanced. Trust me, just went through that and I knew it was a axle bearing, well I was wrong!

Sorry about the miss spelling, yes bearings. It's not the u-joints or tires. The truck was on the lift and had it in drive and spun the wheels and when we let up the gas you hear the cladder noise coming from the differential housing. As long as I keep power to the rear end there is not noise when stopping.

Ok,

What set up are we talking about? Do you have an open gearing or Limited slip rear differential and is it 8.25 Chrysler or 9.25 Chrysler?
