Do you have a 5.9 engine or a 4.7L?

Um, I'm thinking it should cost you absolutely nothing. Just take it back to the place that did the rebuild and have them fix their mistake.

i agree with everyone, if you just got it back from being rebuilt the place that rebuilt it should fix it for you

however if you are dead set on doing it yourself we need to know which engine we are working on(the year would be nice too)

Durango 1998 And only reason im avoiding shop Is i got dragged over the coals and It took them 3 months to finally start working on it Im thinking no thanks to leaving it up to them again And Im just wonder worst case scenario if it is timing is it hard to do and or costly. I have replaced spark plug n wire have cap n rotor just a matter of getting to it Thanks tho.

Sounds like a TPS in my opinion. When the cruise is engaged does the RPMs fluctuate?

Could also be a IAC valve.

+1 hydra. Sounds like a TPS issue.

Cheap enough fix before jumping on the timing chain!
