part time 4wd and towing
The difference in gas mileage between a 4wd and an AWD are very small, i'd say about 2mpg. And that system Sharp is talking about is a part of the traction control system, my work SUV has it and its a 2008 Toyota FJ 4x4. It won't lock up the wrong wheel, as a matter of fact it doesn't lock up any of the wheels. It is exactly like ABS but the only difference is you're accelerating. The only way to override the Traction Control is to put in 4Lo. It still works moderately in 4Hi but it will still let you spin the wheels.
Yeah come to think of it my work 2010 Charger SRT has the traction control but there's a button that enables me to turn off the traction control.
I like knowing that my only traction control system is my LSD in my rear-end. All the "traction support" I'll ever need LOL.

Lol yeah. This doesn't have the option for VSC shut off like some of our other work cars do. Some of them even have electric lock differentials. Either way though, im not a fan of imports.
good man
wtf are you guys doing wrong, i get close to 16 city out of mine, it gets as bad as 13 sometimes in the winter, but thats REALLY REALLY BAD for me normally its 15+ city, and 17-21 highway
to clarify, when i say city, its more suburbs . . . which is probably similar to the driving ajoshi does

Holy crap ajoshi! I get 11 on the highway when I'm pulling a 6,000# trailer! I have a 5.9 and I've always heard the 4.7 did better than the 5.9 by a long shot but idk what's up with yours dude.
My 5.9 tends to get about 15 or 16 city and around 17 or 18 highway but believe it not I put mid grade in the tank (do it once a month with 1/2 can of SeaFoam to get a nice good clean out) and got 22 mpg all highway driving.
And no, that was not taken from an overhead display it was with the trip meter and a calculator. I stayed at 60 mph no trailer and brand new tires!
