my new dilemma: power windows!
Yessir, anything to help. But as stated earlier, try those as they are the cheapest things to do. if you end up needing new switches all around it'll run you about $120 to replace 4 of them. I believe the switches are all the same.
sounds to me like his lockout button might be all thats shot, if thats the case the only thing that needs replacing is the drivers side master switch, and if he is ok w/o the lockout i would just jumper it as shown above
Anyone ever have an issue with the windows sticking into place? or maybe something else in there sticking? when i bought my D 2 months ago all the windows worked, the other day all but the drivers rear window would go down.. when i hit the switch i hear a click as it appears to be trying so i know im getting power... not really to worried about it but, just thought id throw it out there incase i decide to try and fix it.
I have only had problems with my power windows. The driver side has been replaced 3 times and now the back driver and the front passenger are fixed up because they are broken too. I need to fix all three and I can only roll down the back passenger window at the driver door...
Well when I get $ I will have them all fixed. One thing at a time...
Good luck with yours!

As of today I have decided that my master switch is goofed up. I tested the switches previously and they all worked so maybe it was just a recent break. What gauge wire do i need to use to make the jump?
Awesome fix. This same problem has driven my family nuts since they couldn't control their windows themselves. 90% of the time they could only be controlled by the driver door switches. Problem fixed.
Thanks!

I just found this thread and although I've had issues with my passenger door window, I don't generally carry a passenger so it was never a pressing problem. Wifey is out of town and I decided to do some digging on a few things and discovered this thread. Today I did exactly as shown using #14 stranded wire. She's going to be happy when she gets home!!
Thanks to the original discoverer of the repair. Gotta love these forums!
