Welcome Megan and good late morning to you!

First of all What is the question? but to answer yours it is pretty simple. I recomend setting up a signature on your profile so when you make a post all your D info will be in the signature. Saves us from asking all this stuff trust me we see a lot of different models of the D.. Mostly we need Year, Make model and engine. The rest of the stuff is optional but those four are probably the most important.

Also: To help forum moderators out post each problem in a different thread "NEW POST" helps keep the forum cleaner and helps you follow your problem and our recommendations and hopefully solutions. If you ever hear the term "THREAD HI JACK" make sure you arfe not the one causing it........SharpShooter 325 WILL FIND YOU........ just kidding....or maybe I am not.....LOL!!! If you find a soluton to your problem post that too and help your fellow owners too. We are a good bunch of forumers and are professional. We get slap happy some times......O.K. A lot......... but we get the job done and are very proud of our Durangos.

Yep MAGIC nailed it on the head. Just put a topic up and make sure the title is a short summary of what's going on so people are sure to check it. Welcome aboard!

Thank you, Magic84 & WhiteWidow00! I just creatd my signature w/all my car's info. Still trying to navigate & learn the site. Happy to b here. Wish I knew bout sites like these when I 1st bought my Durango. Anyway the problem Im havin is tht the interior/exterior lites, wipers, horn, and automatic locks r going off on their own. Took it to the shop, they replacd the Tail Gate's (back door) switch, but the problem continus. One of my power windows popped out of place a few wks ago and is not workin, so a frend thinks it could b the window's motor somhow, since all those wires r interconnectd. I brought the car bak to the shop to find out there's other switches tht need to b replaced to correct the problm. Im skeptical at this point and dont know what to do b/c after the repairs, its doing it more now than ever. I cant even drive the car anymore, before I could, 'cause it wasnt that bad. I paid a chunck of $ initially, including diagnostics and now their askin for anothr chunk of $. My car only has 74,000 miles and never had this problem befor. Im thinkin it could hav been the window since all these issues started a wk or 2 after the window incident. I feel Ive been swindled but not sure. What do you think?

the only common link between all of the items which are acting up is the CTM, its an expensive item and can only be programmed by the dealer, and DOES NEED TO BE PROGRAMMED BEFORE IT WILL WORK!!!!!!

Thank you, Shrpshtr325, but that's a catch 22 right now for me. But thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. What is the CTM... and do you know more or less how much it cost to program the CTM?

if you buy it from the dealer and install it in the parking lot, then have them program it (take both keys with you) it runs $300-$400

the installation instructions are available in the FAQ thread

Yes the CTM sounds exactly like the problem, probably some grounding issues/water damage. Anyways, if you can find a local junkyard with a D you can pick up the CTM for like $40 then get it reprogrammed at a dealer which might run you something like $60 maybe.

There are two types of them, I believe they just call them high and low. If you have the wireless key fob then you have the high, there's a sticker on the box that tells you which one it is too.

The CTM itself is located on the right side of the glove box and you just need a screw driver to remove it.

For the record...

CTM - Central Timing Module

Controls all the body lights, power locks, and etc. It is all about where you get it from because different dealers will give you different prices on the CTM. I purchased one from a dealership in my area for $138 one time and about a year ago purchased one for $185.
