You could install an air locker system.

A Aussie locker is a limited slip locker. An air or electrical actuated locker is what you what. I would keep the limited slip IMHO.

All Full 4x4 98-00 Ds have the LSD. No need to state that.

No front available for the 1998 means in all practicality based in the spirt in which you seem to be looking for means there is no solution as stated in post #2.

If the LSD is no good, then why would one assume an open front is better or good either.

I am by no means an expert, but after looking around in various places, isn't the front diff on 98-2000 Durango's a Dana 35? According to Wikipedia Dana bought the tooling rights to AMC. The article states that Dodge placed the Dana 35 in Dakota's and Durango's for a couple of years. If thats the case, there are a number of lockers available. I could be wrong.

I believe you are correct bowhunt, the 35 is what I have in mine stock up front. But I don't have any lockers.

iirc the dana 35 is a solid axle, we do NOT have a dana 35 in these trucks, we have an ifs w/ two cv axles going from the differential to the wheels.

Here's the stamp on my Diff. My understanding is that they didn't put the 8.0 in until 2000.
