That is a pretty awesome mod there. It will tell you when your freon charge is low too when the compressor cycles on and off. My A/C just makes a horrifying hissing sound whenever the compressor would run so in the summer when my charge was low it would sound like someone was on life support or my D was breathing haha it was alive.

Anyways in the winter time I'd just turn it to max A/C and all the way to heat. Nothing but nice dry hot air would come out of all the vents. The defroster settings on all cars run the A/C compressor too just to get all the moisture and water out of the air and off the windows. So if you want to save a little gas just keep it on feet only or something.
