I just run stuff untill either it makes my MPGs drop or it's going to kill me, then it's time to replace parts haha. I drive all my cars down to the ground and actually owned my D for a little under 2 years and put over 120k on it. What can I say though, best car I ever drove, best car I ever owned, best car ever made in my mind, period. Everytime I get in a D I feel right at home, it just feels right haha.

I totally agree. I got my D brand new from the showroom and I saw them drive it off the truck being delivered! It now has 127k miles on it and is still running like a champ, granted I have loads of mods on it, but still has the original 5.9 block.

I also agree it's the best vehicle made. I work at a dealership in the service center, so I drive and am inside many different trucks and vehicles, but it still feels so right hopping in the good ol' faithful Durango every night to go home. "It's just a Dodge thing", I tell my wife! LOL

I never had the experience of buying new, basically just can't afford it. I always have and always will keep buying whatever is the cheapest then when it gets too expensive to repair and maintian...time for another one.
Going to the dealer for my D was a 10 minute deal just like "hey I need something cheap, used and abused, don't care about the mpgs, as long as it gets me from this lot to the street I'll take it" so they said oh I have something perfect for you, so they pull the D up for a test drive, I drive it 10 feet and say oh awesome it's actually moving here's $2500 where do I sign? keep the ford escort and let me get out of this place. haha So to this day my D has and still is extremely faithful to me, I'd hop in it right now and drive it coast to coast if I didn't mind the 4MPGs.

no... i put in motorcraft... only thing they had in stock at that time... oh and that spark plug has no gap, because its missing one of the metal contacts, i dont think it was firing at all... it definately runs smoother and there's a noticeable increase in my mpg... i get 14.6 in city... driving on a roadtrip tomorrow so ill get a chance to gauge my new mpg on the highway...

That one plug may have been firing off the wall with the threads and whatever electrode was left inside it, whatever the shortest distance from ground to the electrode is that's where your spark will be. But that's all over and done with, good thing you got those out of there.

You think that's extreme!

I replace mine at 15k or colse to it.....LOL.....Cap/rotor and wires at every 60k.

I have wondered about Motorcraft, but haven't done the tests.

the motorcraft seem to be doing a pretty good job.. most of my driving currently is home to school and back... i was a little dissapointed with my highway mpg.. driving from my house to spokane and back i only got 15... but that was 3 people in the car... would have thought it should have been higher... ill have to test it again sometime...
