Small amount of coolant on the floor ... Rapid drop in temperature ... Have you checked your water pump? Could be leaking via weep holes indicating spent bearing. Bad bearing= poor circulation = inconsistent temp regulation.
Do you have any back-and -forth movement on the water pump pulley?

i haven't checked the water pump. But i got the t-stat changed out. and i topped off the line with new antifreeze. had her running til she got up to temp than drove her around and she's acting fine. hopefully this problem is solved with just the changing of the t-stat.

just have to wait and see. if not I'll check the water pump.

It's a thermostat that sticks in the open position if it fails. The concept makes since, but they have a high failure rate. I personally have had bad luck with them.

Yes but the positive side on those is that you'll never have the issue you had before. Good luck and hopefully it was a fairly easy fix.

I don't think it is a fail safe t stat. i think its just a regular one. bought it from autozone (duralast). well anyways yeah the install wasn't to bad. i had my dad helping me out to. plus my airaid Jr intake came today so installed that as well.

overall good day i suppose. hopefully this is all good and taken care of.

The overflow line is connected to the coolant reservoir, thus to recycle coolant instead of dripping it to the ground.
