I used to run 32x11.50x15 MT's on my truck with completely stock suspension. As stated, your 265/70/16's are equivalent in size to a 31x10.50x15. The only place it rubbed was on full-lock turns, but even that was only limited to the frame. Never hurt anything for the 30k miles I put on the tires.

I literally purchased Michelin LTX M/S2's about 6 hours ago, and I have been battling with suspension and crappy ride quality until I threw these tires on.
I went from 245/70/16 to a 265/70/16 and it was the best decision I ever made. I'm quite sure the better grade tire and the bigger size made the steering, ride quality, and stability much better, but $1,100 for the tires installed from Discount Tire was one of the worst pains my wallet has ever felt, and I just bought my first house...

Yes these were the 2 sizes factory set from Dodge and yes you can run the 31" tires stock on the stock 15" rims just fine. This is what I did and my factory size is the same as yours.

With respect to balancing, I think I will have dynabeads installed whenever I get new tires.

If you do go from the 235/75R15 to the 31x10.5R15, just be aware that the second size is slightly wider and bigger in diameter. Not a problem for fit, but do remember to reprogram the computer so your speedometer reads correctly.
I have the Michellin LTX M/S and think they are wonderful - yes they are expensive. The original Goodyears were junk and only lasted 40k miles. Next I had Toyo A/T which were very good and long lasting but these are basically truck tires and gave a hard ride. The Michellins have transformed the ride to being much more car-like. And over this last MN winter proved to be excellent in the ice and snow. I would recommend them.
The M/S2 were not available in 31x10.5R15 at that time. The other tire with good ratings on Tirerack were the General Grabber HTS but they were out of stock in my size.
