Loud Fuel Pump?
It looks to be a fairly straightforward replacement procedure... Undo the tank straps, drop the tank, unhook the old pump... Unscrew the old pump, screw the new one in, and then hook everything back up.
The only thing stopping me from doing it this long weekend is a lack of funds.

Dont count on it holding out. Had prob with the durango last week with it not starting. Tried for 2 days to get it started. Finally started and ran good for the one or two days I used it. Tried starting it yesterday and today with no luck(even tried tapping the bottom of the tank with a mallet) Im willing to bet the pump is out because I too am hearing a very loud pump when the key is turned on. Looks like ill be forking out about 200 bucks for a new pump.
should just let the thing sit till fuel prices drop. Good luck with yours!

Rc/pilot, you are supposed to hear the fuel pump priming when you turn it to on before you start it. Check your pressure at the rail and make sure because you don't want to replace a fuel pump if that's not the cause.
Mechanic buddy of mine is coming over today to check the pressure. Hes sure its the pump too. It primes when key is turned on but it is a heck of alot louder than it use to be. Can hear it from the house 30 feet away.
If you do have a full tank of gas when it craps out, just get a siphon hose from Wal-Mart for like $15 and get a large 25 gallon drum from a scrap yard or something and pump it into that. The last thing you want to do is waste 26 gallons of gas.
When you drop the tank you have to disconnect the fuel filler tube, pump harness, and the carbon canister lines if I remember right.
I did mine with 3/4 tank and it wasn't bad because the tank is polyurethane so it's lite. The only thing was when you tip it either way the fuel runs down hill so be ready for the weight movement inside the tank. drain the fuel tank after it's out and swish out bottom with a little fluid to wash out any crap on the bottom. Install and fill.
