I have a pretty good idea what the outcome will be on this. Only difference is it was the other way around (I swapped my '01's cluster for an '00 cluster).

Pick up a cluster and let us know the outcome, that's probably the only way you're going to know for sure.

On your '00 cluster, since your truck obviously has the mechanical shift indicator, where is your "OD OFF" light and "Cruise" light? Are they bulbs like the "Low Wash" and "Check Engine" lights or are they located in the odometer display?

My O/D off light is actually an illuminated light in the cluster however the cruise is in the odometer area.

With your swap were there any issues with anything plugging up or how was the swap with the indicator?

Please, I'm asking those who have experienced it or a confirmed answer and not a "I'm sure it would work" because yes I'm sure it would work but before I buy a $50 cluster from the junk yard I want to make sure it will work.
I don't think it will work, sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

You could always spend your cash on a new cluster back ground!

Look at the big brain on Hydra. Try this link, they can send instrument panel overlays.

When Indy D gets back from vacation, he should chime in....... the one he did on his 2000 looks sweet.

Yeah that's what I'll probably end up with. I was trying to change it up and indeed hydra, I think a background will be the way I'll go because I think it would be a waste of time and effort but I wanted to get other opinions.

Thanks guys and Indy, feel free to give your .02 on this matter and pictures would be great!!

Default airbag/clockspring...

Hey thanks widow and sharp...that puts my mind at ease. I'll check the fuse later when my wife gets back with our D, my horn and cruise aren't working so it may be the clockspring. Hope it's still available and not too expensive...kingoftow

OP, the 2001+ D cluster will not work on a 2000- Durango.
