Default Gauge Cluster

This may sound like a stupid question but... Would the gauge cluster from a 2001-2003 Durango fit on my 2000 Durango? Mine has the old style and not the "Information Center" style one and I'm wanting to change it up a little bit.

Please, I'm asking those who have experienced it or a confirmed answer and not a "I'm sure it would work" because yes I'm sure it would work but before I buy a $50 cluster from the junk yard I want to make sure it will work.

Thanks a bunch guys!

WW,
What do you mean by Information Center? I have a 2000, and I have a cluster that has the Odometer, Trip Odometer, Cruise on/off in the lower left corner... Is that the cluster you are after? If there is a better version that is plug/play? I would encourage you to give it a shot... What's the worst that could happen? Pull yours out and take it with you and compare the connections, or take pictures and do the same... I'm a learn as you go kind of guy! If it ain't broke, don't fix it never really worked for me.

I believe the shift indicator is different on 2000...IIRC they changed in 2001. 2000 had mechanical indicator with orange marks. 2001 went to digital read out on the lower right side. That is the most obvious difference.

MAGIC, I'm sure I could come up with a way to retro fit a digital one into my current system and make it work. If anything I got a month without my shift indicator, LOL whoop dee doo I've had the Durango for 11 years now I know very well where my Reverse and Drive slots are! LOL

Groggy, no I literally mean it says right in the middle "Information Center". I have the same dash you do and the newer dash has a little different look to it. Check it out...

Default airbag light/clockspring???

Hey whitewidow00, you've been hotrodding (cudo.s on smoking the stangs by the way!!!) your D for a while so you will probably have come across my minor (I hope) issue. My 2001 D-Sport has 88,000 miles on it and recently my airbag light came on (no impacts) and won't go off. I pulled the steering wheel and checked the connections, everything seems ok. No frayed wires either. I've heard that a worn out" clockspring" can cause this scenario. I'm inspected until next march, can I just run like this for now or am I in danger of the airbag going off randomly? kingoftow

Kingoftow, you shouldn't have issues with an airbag deploying when it shouldn't. If you pulled it and all looks fine I'd say check te fuse in the side panel.

the airbag wont go off w/o a trigger, so check the fuse and let us know if your cruise control, horn and/or steerwheel audio controls (if there) are working, if any of them are not working i would replace the clock spring

Widow......you know you got a M.I.L indication.....LOL I bet your next waring is going to be "LOW FUEL"

With the exception of the mechanical transmission indication I like the early model instrument panels. The 03 base is just too plain. The information center is nice and having all the warning lights in one place is just a bonus.

Brother that ain't mine I was just showing an example of the newer gauge cluster. That style is what I'm wanting to put on rather than the one I have now.
