Really? Whoa there.

Because your choice of repair facility can't do a simple brake job you are blaming the vehicle? Really? How about making them replace what you paid them to do correctly in the first place. Obviously it wasn't replaced correctly.

86k isn't an uncommon duration for hubs. After all, they were used 100% of the time for all 86,000+ miles. That works out to about 1/2 a penny a mile.

We already determined above that the transmission service was not done properly by you in the first place.

And now we are going to blame it all on the vehicle and the brand? Well okay then. LMAO.

Oh.... and with a closing statement like that, you would be on a very short lease on other Durango forums BTW.

Have to agree with Indy,

You have to maintain any vehicle and follow the manufactures intervals. Don't blame the truck, blame the owner.

Dear Members,
I would like to formally apologize for my ignorant comment any toes I may have stepped on with the last comment I made. In my disappointment and anger at the previous owner and my trans shop, I made a foolish remark. It took the good people of this forum to get my head out of my a**, and for that, I thank you. I love my D, there's no 2 ways about it.

Thanks.

So - I got my trans rebuilt, I got 2 new calipers, 2 new discs, 2 new pairs of ceramic pads, and one new hub, wheel bearing and all the goodies, and GOOD GOD what a difference! This is what the thing felt like when it was new??? When I'm around town I turn off the overdrive and the thing is AWESOME, get on the expressway with it back on and the thing cruises like it's on glass. And all it took was one lousy transmission LOL

In short, my D is the best car on the road. Thank you guys.

I have an 01 durango rt. with the same reverse problems I've changed the fluid filter and all three soleniods in the trans did not fix the problem, when I had it tore down I noticed some play in the levers on the bands about an inch. H ow do you adjust, and how much play do they need? Will that fix it or do I have to get it rebuilt, or is there any other sensors or solenoids?

Default I'm no pro.....but.....

You're experiencing the same, seemingly minor, inconvenience I did. Unless one of the other Sages of the DodgeForum.com would know better, Sorry bud, it's gotta get rebuilt. Any thoughts?

On a high note though, once you do rebuild it, it's gonna drive like new! Just don't get down on your car, that's a mistake! Best of luck to you.

The most likely cause is either a broken piston or missing strut. You should have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch freeplay. Your best bet like xthumpx had said, trans shop.
