99 Durango 5.9 PCM - what is the best source
Hi everybody, I am trying to buy a replacement PCM for my Durango,
VIN 1B4HS28Z4XF590235 with 69,506kms. As the sellers are plenty,
and some stories are scary, specially since, I need to have the PCM
sent over to Japan, I would like to get advice from knowledgeable forum
member/s as to who to tap best in my case. Any and all advice is
very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

First off, never get a remanufactured or rebuilt because the success rate is very low. Second, here's a link to the place I got mine off of. They are a special order part so you have to email them for pricing but I'm with you where eBay can be a scary place on car computers.

Funny enough, they are also on ebay with a different price structure
to the one on their website. Can you tell how your purchase got done?
Thru the VIN or thru the selection process in their website?
Basically the selection process on their website is a generalized selection and once you put your actual order in, they ask you for your VIN that way they can program it to the exact specs on your vehicle.
When I purchased mine, I was very happy with how I got treated and with the end result. I sent them an e-mail and they got back to me (don't remember what the price was at this moment) and it ended up being they sent a direct link in an e-mail for purchase and I entered my VIN and it took about 2 weeks for me to receive it.
I would probably get to them directly thru their website rather than eBay because the eBay route may be a wholesale kind of take to their product.

I think when all was said and done it ended up being in the ballpark of $250. I don't believe they do performance tunes, the only reason I had to get it was because I was sending my current one off the B&G and I couldn't go without my Durango for a week and a half so I did what I thought was best and got a replacement.
Definitely much cheaper than a rental car and now I have a backup!
