Transmission Reaction Shaft Condition
Hi folks-
I'm rebuilding a 44re- actually swapping parts from a good 44re to one in need of a rebuild. I believe the front pump in the old unit is in need of replacement- tranny had problems when turning, indicating a possible pump issue (or so I'm told). So, I want to swap the pump with the one from the donor 44re.
However, I'm concerned about the reaction shaft on the donor unit's oil pump. If you look at the shaft near the pump housing or oil seal, you can see that the splines are worn down. Do I have enough of the spline left for the torque converter to function properly, or will i need to replace the oil pump (or reaction shaft)?
Thanks for your input.
