Brake System Overhaul
Anyway, about brake fluid......LOL......I said I didn't know about "Motul".
Fully Synthetic Brake Fluids have been out for many years and some manufactures have gone to it (like Mercedes-Benz) is using Mobil. http://www.autos.ca/auto-tech/auto-tech-brake-fluid-maintenance Unfortunately, information on European countries oils are scarce because us people on this side of the world get the shed while they get the house. Just like their oils verses ours......LOL.......They always are the first people to try out new products in their high end cars.
Like I said, "I have heard that some German vehicles ABS brake components don't like it "meaning DOT5 fluids in particular" and they are still using 4, but I never paid that much attention because myself, and everyone else I know don't drive them......LOL......Just what I've gathered from reading about in the mag's at the doctors/shops/and what not.
I usually don't follow them much because I only use DOT3 or DOT4 because I live in the USA and have never needed to go to any other rated brake fluid other then DOT3 or DOT4. I do use Fully Synthetic fluids when I can find them but it seems to be hard to find unless you go with Castrol, which isn’t that bad of a fluid regardless.
I've never gotten that far into them because they simply aren't that big of a deal, not like engine oil changes ya know and oil in particular.
On topic of this post but off topic;
Speaking of which, has anyone seen that the new Oil Filter companies are recommending up to 15,000 mile oil change intervals with their Long Life filters and oil? See, it's the same thing, European countries have used it for a long time and now they are starting to push it here, however they are not using the same oil types as they have been over there, and there is that tricky wording (up too)......LMAO

also there is NO DIPSTICK on that engine, so you cant even check the oil level on it.

HS, you are confused.
Now get this... 3, 4 and 5.1 are all compatible.
5 is a totally different beast.
5 is NOT 5.1.
5 is SILICONE and indeed there are all types of issues with 5 fluid.
Anytime 5 is interchanged in a conversation with 3 or 4 or 5.1, the person mentioning 5 simply doesn't know that 5 has nothing to do with 3, 4 or 5.1. That should be an instant ERROR ALERT.
5 is to 3/4/5.1 like kerosene is to gasoline... both fuels, however the similarities in like usability stop there.

I understand the differences in them and all that, what I was just saying is that auto manufactures are still not using 5 or 5.1, they are still using 3 or 4. I don't understand all the hoop law over the use of either of the 5's in the newer cars and why they are not using it other than "some" related brake problems? I tried to search for some of those articles but gave up.....LOL.....It is nice to see them coming up with a better solution but, personally I think they are sitting down on this until a new different type is made verses the same old type just built a little better. Have you seen any manufacture actually using 5 or 5.1 yet, because I haven't?
Regardless, I just use the DOT3 that my truck came with......."Personal opinion".
Back at Sharps<------
Ya its freakin sick isn't it! If I remember right Widow pulled a trans cover and replaced the filter on one and there was no fill tube!.......He had to inject it in the hose or something!.......LOL
Their oils over there are different then we have here, why don't we buck up and do the same is most likely related to ensuring jobs or economy.....LOL.....However, to do that the build their engines and transmissions to VERY critical tolerances so they have less break down. They don't do that here. We need to buck up ya know and figure something else out......LOL
