i have the cherrybomb on my 1993 5.2 Dakota and it is pretty loud, its cheap and if you dont like it your only out 35 bucks if its even that, and like Hydrashocker said Magnaflow is also a real good brand. Also if your trucks a V8 Check out the Aeroturbine 3030

It fully depends on the type of sound you want?

I prefer Magnaflow as they have a straight through flow design yet do a great job removing that loud rasp sound (drone) out making a nice lower sounding grunt. But each to their own.

Don't you mean Aeroturbine 2525? The 3030 is a 3" inlet/outlet and will not be a direct replacement without the need of reducers.

would replacing the muffler be a simple weekend job or would some welding be needed?

If you have the tools and the know-how you could do the job alone in a few hours easily. Taking it to a shop would be about the same it would just cost a bit more is all...

Took me 45 minutes in my driveway with an 18" extension (Cut down a little) and 3 exhaust clamps. I bought the Flowmaster Super 40. I really like the sound.

If you want to do it right then it would be a simple weekend job and some welding would be needed. Exhaust clamps just isn't a professional way of doing it and is considered "Jimmy Rigging" it. Simply put, if you ever want to sell this Durango in the future, just do it right and weld it together.
