Having trouble refueling my 2001 Durango
Do that in/around Detroit as I do and your *** would be shot at. haha
Oh, wow, I didn't know that! Honestly, I wouldn't trust anybody but me pumping my won gas. Plus you gotta tip 'em or else you feel like an *******. (At least I do. I can get ****ty service at a restaurant, and still feel bad for leaving nothing.)
BDWJR78 I feel your pain. I have tried every position, angle, depth, and the gas nozzle still clicks off (I was talking about a fuel pump, right?) Every fill up is a 10 minute ordeal. Uncle Hydra's onto something with the transition between the filler cap and the tube into the tank. I just gotta FIND the problem and I'll be able to let you know how I filled up my '01 R/T.
Thanks to everyone saying to hold the nozzle a different way or 1/2 way out, but as I stated in an earlier post it doesn't matter which way I hold the nozzle, how far it is in the fill tube or not in the fill tube it still shuts off. Nothing changes the way it fills but it takes like 10 mins. or longer to get a half of a tank of fuel, "Does any one know if this vehicle has a refuel check valve" thats was the original question. And if so where it is located in the tank, like the vehicles I work on for a living (Toyota) or is this system different I have looked on Mitchell on demand at repair manuals for this and can not find it anywhere.
Did this problem just start? Sounds to me like a vent to the tank is plugged. Had the same prob on my gmc and it ended up being a vent solenoid was stuck shut. Not sure what type of vent these monsters use but it might be worth looking into.
