Having trouble refueling my 2001 Durango
Every time I try to refuel my Durango I have to hold the nozzle at a slow trickle, is the refuel check valve located inside the fuel tank, do I need to replace the tank or is this part serviceable
Long story short, you can probably avoid having this issue by holding the fuel filler nozzle a different way.
There is a bend half-way along the fuel filler nozzle, I insert the fuel filler nozzle into the fuel door up to this bend... Then my truck fuels just fine.
I only have a problem with the automatic shut off if I insert the fuel filler nozzle all the way to the hilt.

There is a about a 3" piece of rubber hose that fits between the filler cap and the down pipe to the gas tank. You can see this under the drivers side fender in front of the rear fender. If the fill tube to filler tube is not straight it will constrict this little hose into a right angle therefore blocking the filler causing the issue.
Thanks Hydrashocker, I will look to see if that line is constricted any, and to rob[GL] that didn't work, every way i tried to hold the nozzle it still shuts off if I go any more than a slight trickle.
I did not see any rubber hose by the filler neck, there is just a metal seperation about 3 inches from the opening (filler cap) and they both go to the tank all metal untill about 6 inches before the tank and then they both go to rubber hoses and they are straight one is the fille tube and the other I assume is the vent hose.

I went to fill up yesterday, and the gas station I was at, had very stubby fuel nozzles... I had the same problem with it refusing to fuel at it's maximum flow. Stupid. But again, by pulling the nozzle back up out of the tank (not completely out mind you) I was able to fuel almost normally.

In my truck I have to pull the fuel spigot 1/2 way out or it can pop it off.
I went and looked at your year set up and you are correct. The filler is one piece from the inlet and goes into 2 longer tubes before imputing into the fuel cell. The larger one is the filler, and the smaller diameter is the vent. One of these could be plugged.
The other thing to look at is the way it flows into the tank. If there isn't a continuous drop then it will bubble and come back up and click off the pump. Ensure that there is a consistent slight pitch or pull the spigot out slightly like 1/2 way.
