Break Line leak?
Went to get gas about 1 mile last PM. Noted mushy brake on way home.
As I pulled in the drive the Brake and ABS light went on in the dash.
Noted a few spots on the drive and found a leak on my rear driver side where the hose meets the metal line.
Can I safely drive it to the shop or do I need a tow.
I will top of the reservoir and carry extra fluid for the 5 mile drive.
I doubt it is just loose but corroded or cracked line.

if you take it very very easy you will probably be fine it all depends on how bad the leak is, if it only leaks when you press the brake pedal and you dont have to stop much you will probably make it to the shop just fine, however without knowing all the details i really dont have a straight answer for you.
keep in mind if you DO decide to do this that the e-brake is cable driven and is still there even if you loose the hydraulic brakes, its not fun to stop with, but most certainly can be done.

Is it safe? Envision this: you are driving by a house and a kid chases a ball into the street. Your brake lines are low on fluid. You step on the brake pedal and it goes to the floor...
Is it worth $50 tow truck bill??? Think about it as an insurance policy...
I don't mean to sound like a total jerk, but it really isn't just about us and our trucks.

I agree too. When it comes to some things I'd say it might be worth the risk but the ability to stop a 6,500 lb vehicle, it's not worth the risk especially if you can get a good rate on getting towed there.
Hell,
My insurance company has "Towing" coverage and it was either free or I pay a buck or so for it and they cover up to $100 bucks of towing charge with receipt of the actual charge. All I have to do it take it/send it to a Met agent for a check. However I think AAA has it built into their policy. Regardless, I think everyone should know about the coverage, or at least look at the actual coverage you already have.
