Question Speaker Question.....

Hi, I checked all the do it yourself threads on speaker replacement and I just wanted to ask one question that I couldn't find. Are the tweeters wired to the Mid/woofers or are they wired to the headunit/amp ? Meaning do all the speakers including tweeters have a set of wires going to them or are the tweeters piggybacked off the woofers ? I have the 8 speaker Infinity system. Thanks...

iirc the tweeters are not wired to the larger speakers (i believe they are mids but dont quote me on it) once you pop the doors off you will see the wiring, setup, its NOT hard to take the inside door panel off

ok, but if I buy speakers + Tweeters w/ a crossover unit do I wire them up with the stock wiring or do I use the crossover unit that came with said speakers and tweeters ?

If your going to use the factory amp the speakers need to be 2ohm

If you bought what it sounds to me like you got a component system. What you are going to do is use the stock wiring leads from the factory amp or stereo deck (which ever feature you have) and that is going to be your supply for the crossover. You are then going to want to utilize the crossover as the supply for the speakers.
