Default My 5.9L sludge monster - proof on film!

Oh my! I really wish I could find a way to eliminate all this sludge on my 227,000+ stocker valve-covered heads. The last time the stock covers were off, my Durango was in production in early 2000, over 11 years ago.

Horrible isn't it?! It is a certain shame that you can clearly read the casting marks in there. They should have been totally sheered off by now. Maybe that comes at 228,000 miles.

Never mind that, onto the important question.... what is this "film" stuff that you speak of? I seem to remember that some old-timers still use that ancient method of photography.....

Thanks gang. I expected this but wasn't sure really. You never know at 227,000+ miles. Pleased that all is good.

Mobil1, 5k miles, every other sample goes to Blackwood Labs for testing/review just in case to catch anything in advance. It is the next best thing to having xray vision and being a fortune teller.

"Film"... Kodak, Polaroid, Fuji. Reminds me of "Girls on Film"

Well, that's what I thought but I wanted to ensure it.

You have 2 options I know of;

1. Add about 1 1/2 quart of Diesel to the engine oil to the crank case (meaning 4 quarts oil 1 1/2 quart Diesel) to make up the 5.5 quarts oil you should have. Thing is you could have crap between the rings and cleaning it could cause those contaminants to be removed and thus burning oil.

or 2

2. Bend over and rebuild that 5.9L with a stroker kit and that that bad *** Durango to school!!!!!
