You need to pull the diff cover and look around to make sure everything is good

I had the cover a few weeks ago to change the diff fluid. Everything looked ok. There was a magnet at the bottom of the diff with a small amount of stuff on it. No pieces of gear. Looked kinda like clutch dust, The stuff you see when changing the trans filter.

An after market lsd would that cause the wheels to do what they do?

It's an open rear end.

The reason it starts to turn open and stops is because the friction thereof isn't enough to sustain critical operation for a LS differential. So the diff move to the open basic build.

no... he stated that there was metal fillings on the magnet... looked like clutch dust and is clutch dust are two different things... of course there will be some metal filings when you have metal gears meshing together... thats normal wear and tear... doesn't mean he has a limited slip... the likelyhood that someone did put a limited slip in it is slim... they would have told him when he bought it

Thanks for your help. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything wrong or going bad.
