it sounds to me like you are LOW on fluid, how much did you put in, and what did it read on the dipstick??? you need to check the fluid level before adding or removing any fluid.

If the long filter wasn't seated right, would it cause this problem? What about a safe mode? if I was low on fluid, then lower after i took out a liter and started?

Does the transmission shift now, after taking some fluid out?

I have a similar issue with my D except the transmission will not engage in any gear. Just changed fluid and both filters. Also, receiving the following codes:P0121, P1784, P0732, P1734, P0731. Did taking fluid out fix the problem?

2000 Dodge Durango 4.7L 4x4

Fixed the problem!Wasn't getting any fluid pressure in system(could switch gear without brake on),so pulled the dreaded pan(on my back 30 deg),so find out that the seal on the stem are a little different.I swapped the old onto the new and stuck back in(make sure you hear in "snap" into place.Bolt back up and fill wil 4.7l .Hope this helps!

Sucking air will do that.....LOL

BTW<---- a 4.7L has a 45RFE transmission and there is 2 filters on that transmission. A flat one and a screw on type.

2000 Dodge Durango 4.7L 4x4
P0121 TPS Voltage Does Not Agree with MAP
P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio
P0731 Gear 1 Incorrect Ratio

As for the P1784 and P1734 I have no clue so I don't want to send you in the wrong direction. Please PM master tech
