Default bypassing window lockout switch

My windows in my 2000 Durango aren't working. Only from the drivers switch. I believe it is the lockout switch. Can someone please give me a detailed description on how I would go about bypassing it? THANKS

No bypass, replace or R&R the existing one.

Grrrrrr.

Really?

Your "solution" leaves the system in an abortion-like state with "the doors as if they are unlocked all the time."

I guess if one doesn't mind redneck engineering, jumpers here and there, and a short years later leaving their Durango a burning hulk on the side of the road, go for it.

Otherwise, replace or R&R the existing one. For the time and trouble to do all in the links, I could swap out the switch probably 10 times and be done with it knowing I don't have to worry about any of this again for another decade.

I think we are back to the, "jut because you can doesn't mean you should" type of situation. I bet we could cut the top of of the Durango and create a convertible too. And let's do it using a tile saw and a chisel. Just sayin'.

Really.

Ok, so replacing the the entire master switch would solve the problem instead of bypassing it? So could I find one at a junk yard and use it?

yup a junkyard part is the cheapest way to do it correctly

and indy, as hydra said i never said it was a good idea, just that it was possible, and yes it does leave the windows in an unlocked position, however for those of us who dont have kids that is not a concern, its it technically correct? nope, of course not, will it work if you cant find the part or until the replacement comes in? apparently yes.
