Well if you are planing on towing I would leave it clutch fan.

If you are planing not towing go ahead and go full electric, but do a very large one or a dual set up with a thermostatic control module. Look in the DIY section for all the info.

If you are doing both and you don't live where it is hot, going to tow light, then you can try the flex fan. They really don't load the motor down like a clutch fan does, if fact there is little load at all. They actually are a good setup. If you chose this route then measure the fan shroud opening and get one that is 1 inch under the overall opening. But there are different kinds for different applications. This is the style I used. It sucks in more air at slow speeds and idle and as RPM's increase it flattens out reducing load on the motor, however it won't bring in as much air.

Now this type is for high RPM engines, like drag, like racing that need little cooling but high RPM's. They keep their rigidity and don't flatten out but little.

Then you have to measure the length of the mount you need.

Regardless of what you would like to choose, they all work well.

Basically you take the OEM fan off, use a straight edge (yard stick) and place it on the engine side of the outer fan shroud and measure the distance from the water pump surface to the ruler and subtract like 1 inch to the larger number and get that mount. The exact directions are an their site. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/
