no offense, but if you cant reach up and unplug the oil pressure sensor and use a socket to thread it out and thread a new one in without a write up, you probably shouldnt be working on your own car, it was THAT EASY!!!!!!!!

however i AM going to take apart the old sensor so ill add some pics of that when i get it apart.

Wow that would suck not to have your truck at school, but $100 a month WTF? I'm glad my school is only 8 miles away, saves money on room and board.

LOL

That was a dead giveaway I agree when you were pressing on it and it would work then not. So as I read it, you pulled the harness apart and that is where the water was? Anyway this is the two way harness:

1 - K4 18BK/LB SENSOR GROUND
2 - G60 18GY/YL (4.7L) ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL
2 - G60 16GY/YL (5.9L) ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL

There was also the 1 wire lead.

I couldn't find a 3 way oil pressure sending switch harness?????

the 2002 factory service manual, it is in there bc i found the pinout for it

it has a 5v supply, a signal, and a pcm ground

and adukart, yes it does suck not having the truck at school but life is what it is.

My mistake, I thought from your postings that you had a 3 pin harness/sensor instead of the 1 or 2 pin connector.

you are correct the oil pressure sensor has 3 pins on it, 5v supply, signal, and pcm ground

you can also check page 949 of the 2002 factory service manual for the oil pressure sensor NGC

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR (NGC) - BLACK 3 WAY
CAV CIRCUIT FUNCTION
1 K7 18OR 5VOLT SUPPLY
2 G60 18GY/YL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
3 K4 18BK/LB SENSOR GROUND

I see,

I was looking at page 948 just above and never looked down......LOL

Thing is, I have never seen a 3 pin before, it's a strange option.

its only on the trucks with the next generation controller (NGC) which includes some very late my 2002 trucks and all 2003 trucks which have the 4.7 in them.
