I haven't done anything to the brakes on my Durango yet, but on my Neon I have the drilled/slotted rotors, I noticed a big difference with them. I also will only use semi-metallic pads, I believe the ones I used were Duralast but its been long enough that I forgot. I definitely want to change the pads and rotors on my truck soon though, I don't like how the brakes feel and stop right now.

If you want a better braking, do the 2003 rear disc conversion, my $.02

Well then I would leave the rear alone until you do the conversion and just do drilled/slotted rotors and high performance pads up front.

Just what ever you like as far as rotors. I'm not the one to ask if slotted or drilled are better then this or that, I just use regular and have good luck with em. As far as the pad composition, the Duralast Gold series pads used to be a ceramic/semi metallic type. The best part about them is they don't dust, whereas even the regular ceramics still dust. The other thing I like about them is you can use them for hills and towing whereas the regular ceramic heat up and glaze and the Gold series don't.

Regardless, everyone I have convinced to try them love them, I haven't seen a unhappy member yet.......LOL......Knock on wood.

Now on the back, only 30% of braking goes to the back so I wouldn't do anything too expensive on the rears with disk, or drum for that matter.
