Yeah straight pipes are legal, Bismarck is the second largest city in ND, pop. 65,000. The cops will give us crap but they have to prove that you broke the decibel barrier. They can't make you rev it up to break the law either. Although exhaust dumps are illegal if they are before the cat.

Gotta love livin' where the cops are rednecks too Seriously though things are pretty relaxed here. People rip out catalytic converters and stuff all the time. It is still illegal just no one here cares. There is no yearly inspection for emissions or road worthyness. You just go into the DOT and renew your tabs. Now they will pull you over and make you fix things like tail lights and headlights, the absolute minimum type stuff. They enforce the laws at there discretion so if you do get pulled over be very nice. Friend of mine got off with a warning friday for doing 92 in a 75 just cause he b.s.'d with the guy like he was friends with him.

Magnaflow's website is informative, you can look through all the mufflers/systems they have and figure out which is yours, then decide if you want to reduce the # of chambers or go smaller, higher performance grade...whatever you wish...

The suggestion to sell your current muffler to offset the cost is a good one, list it on the site or on CL,someone will grab it...heck if I was close enough I might even, might sound better than my Thrush.....

The 22" isn't that loud. You should have gone to the 18" (or shorter if you can) as the shorter is the louder because Magnaflow are true straight flow systems without and baffles.

So if I have a 22" muffler, which muffler should I get instead for a more louder growl
