Default 01 durango trans/valve body issues, trys to pull in park etc...

Got a 2001 durango that broke the little plate on the side of the valve body, [ it had 1st and 2nd and rev ]. so i ordered and replaced the broke plate now when you start it up it trys to pull Forward in park and in reverse it trys to pull a little harder Forward. the rest of the gears act like its in neutral. I'm lost and would appriciate any advice on what i may have done wrong or overlooked. thanks in advance for any help

Welcome to DF
I'm going to guess you have a 4.7 with a 45RFE transmission? You want to drop the pan and inspect the manual shift valve to be sure its lined up.

Much appriciate your help, and i will check it soon as i can identify it.

Thats the one. Now if you didn't remove the sliding lever on the valve body the manual shift valve should be okay. Check all the accumulator cups and seals. Are they all facing the same way? One more thing I didn't ask, Were having this same problem before or is this something new?

it worked perfect then suddenly lost 3rd 4th and od, i still had 1st 2nd and reverse, from what i have read this is common due to the broke plate? i replaced the plate and thats when it started to try to pull forward in park and reverse and all other gears acted as neutral. something i find odd is that the accumulator cups in my trans only has a seal on one side ? all the diagrams ive saw show 2 seals, one on each end of the accumulator cups. i'll check everything you have advised me to and post my findings .
p.s. could some foriegn object have gotten into the valve body and blocking trans fluid cause this? i may try blowing it out with compressed air to make sure its all clear. i really appriciate your advice and taking the time to help me out here.

i told you wrong the accumulator cups DOES have a seal on both ends ! HOWEVER There are no wire retainers under the rear seals, could that cause this problem?

the manual shift lever is in place, the accumulator cups only go in one way from what i can tell. do they have to be rotated a certain way?

one more thing i forgot to tell you after i put the plate in i drove it about 3/4 mile and it shifted perfect, i shut it off when i got home 5mins later is when i started it back and it was trying to pull forward in park and reverse. any help is appriciated . brok .

i've took it apart inspected it/checked it for all you mentioned above everything looks good, [ i havent taken the L/R switch valve out to check it though ]. anyway upon reassembly it no longer tries to pull forward in park but its still trying to pull forward in reverse, all other gears are still like neutral . brok .

If the cups and the spring are facing in the right way towards the plate. The other thing that left are the front half the transmission. The clutches may have welded themselfs together causing the transmission to feel like its trying to go forward in park or reverse. I have seen this happen to the 46RE transmissions, but haven't seen it on the 45RFE. The only possible cause is the valve body.
