well here is goes. i just bough a 2001 durango with 4.7L with 45RFE trans. check engine light is on. P0750 shift solenoid a did some looking on line and every one is saying trans control solenoid is bad so i replaced it didnt fix the problem when i had the trans pan off fluild looked good and no metal or anything was on the bottom of the pan reverse is good shifts good tho 1st to 2nd but it goes to 3rd it goes into nurtual now im thinking the trans control module might be bad because the pass side got hit on the fender
so if anyone can help me out that would be great thanks

Did you notice if the side plate on the valve body plate missing some screws or the plate was bent? That could one of the reason why you don't have 3rd or 4th gears. The others would be a internal problem or the valve body.

 

thanks its not the plate on the valve body i installed a new valve body with trans solenoid/ trs assembly thats why im thinking trans control module now looked at plugs at tcm and solenoid pack.

 

I would find a shop that can do a clutch test on the transmission and test 3rd gear. If it slips, then its internal. Are getting gear ratio error codes in 3rd and 4th gears?

 

no. no codes for gear error 3rd or 4th. only code im getting is p0750
